It’s important to set goals, long term or short term, to set yourself where you want to strive to get to. Some strategies to help you are being specific and realistic with your goals and repeat the goal out loud to yourself every morning to make them stick. Two things that are helpful to remember are roadblocks DON’T mean failure and pleasing others won’t help you succeed. (From the article Take 5 Tips For Life.) My short-term goals are to finish collage and volunteer. I picked this because these are things that seem easy but will help me with my long-term goals. To meet my goals I will need support from my family and I also need a will to go on and finish collage and get myself involved with volunteer work. Some skills I need are a high self-esteem to not give up when the going is hard, and get back up and keep going if I fall down.

I plan on going to Oakland University. Things that can make this more affordable are trying to get a scholarship and saving up money for college. Also staying up in my grades will help get to that scholarship. In the college I will be studying everything necessary to become an Ortho Surgeon. This means math and human biology and medicine for sure. I will probably even have to do some technology classes. I will stay a 4.0 GPA student and work towards a scholarship. They have a great program for people wanting to go into medical. Especially surgeons. This is close to home and can get me where I want to be with their med programs and hands on experience with an actual Ortho Surgeon.
The schools I’m most interested in are Oakland University, George Washington University in Washington D.C, and Michigan University. The things that attract me to the schools are they are highly rated for Orthopedic Surgeon training. They offer great opportunity, if I get good grades, for a high ranked career. They are also pretty close to home so I don’t have to go a long time without seeing my family. I can come over on some weekends, tell them how school is going, what my grades are and if I’m enjoying it. I picked these over other schools because they are rated better for my profession I would be studying. They are also close like I have mentioned. The factors that add into choosing a school are how they rate for the career training I want and how close they are to home. The reason I would be going to that school and the things I would study are everything to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. As long as I get good grades and keep up my hard work I can go to any of these places.
For my future career I choose to be an Orthopedic Surgeon. I want to be an Orthopedic Surgeon because I love to help people with physical disabilities be able to function again with surgeries or a cast or brace. I have had knee problems a lot and I became very found of my Ortho Surgeon and his job and what he gets to do. I also love watching and listening to the way a surgery has to be done. I have always been amazed by surgeon’s period. I would also like to be a Cardiac Surgeon. I love the body and it’s functions and would love to help people with a disadvantage get help. This options compares to my other options better because one, they get better wages, two they have a more interesting job to me, and three I love the body and the bone, joints and, ligament functions. I am also not squeamish or uneasy by blood. I can’t wait to get older and get my job degree from collage.
What type of learner are you? What does that mean? Give three examples of why this is true for you.3/30/2016 I'm a visual learner. I have a hard time listening to a teacher talk for a long period of time and not show anything. You show me something and I can learn it quickly. This means that I have trouble grasping things with out a shown example or meaning. Some might even say I have a photographic memory, making it easy to see something and remember it. One example of this being true is, when I was in sixth grade we were doing one-step equations and I didn't get her just saying what we were supposed to do with the numbers but once she showed me how to do a problem I got it right away. Second, I never knew how to find the slope of a line until I had my teacher show me an example on a piece of paper. Third, in computer lit I didn't know how to turn anything in on Weebly until she showed an example toy the whole class on the board. I easily get distracted when someones just talking. If you are showing an example on the board its easier for me to grasp and remember.
What surprised you about this? Did your results match what you thought you’d get? Explain.3/30/2016 My first option was a little bit of a surprise. I got I would be suitable for a social worker. At, first I didm't understand but then I remembered that I like to help people though their problems. Then, I got these doctor results and that matched what I thought because I have wanted to be a doctor/surgeon since I was in 4th grade. I was always watching hospital shows and surgeries. When I had knee surgery after I watched, on YouTube, the full procedure it was very interesting. I also got to see pictures of mine and my sisters all went, "Ew gross!" I was just amazed by it. I have always wanted to be a surgeon either on the heart and lungs, Cardiac Surgeon, or an Orthopedic Surgeon. Blood also doesn't make me sick. I would love to be a surgeon.
My strengths are working with others at any age and ability, can stay on task easy as long as I have a schedule to follow, great caretaker, high energy and enthusiastic, and I am a good negotiator. My weaknesses are I get distracted easily if I don't have a schedule to follow and deadlines, and I'm not a strong public speaker. I get nervous really easy. I like to play with little kids and talk with older people. I also love helping in kindergarden classes with the little ones. I also love learning about medical procedures and care. This will help me with my career because this will give me patients and abilities that will help me help others. The types of jobs that I think I'm well suited for are a doctor/surgeon for people or animals or a school teacher. I'm astonished by surgeries and the way they work and would love to help injured animals. I also love working with kids. So either one would be a good fit for me.
For the trailers the things that were successful for the trailer was working with my partner and finishing it on time. The unsuccessful or hard things were figuring out an idea that made both people happy. We found our solution to that and did great on the project otherwise. There was only one hard part to this project. That was figuring out a topic to make both people happy. We found that we both didn't want depressing or to upbeat so we went in the middle. There was no issues in the group between me and my partner. Before we started working I thought we wouldn't get along. But, in the end we worked together greatly and made a great final project. I would love to work with partners/my partner again in an other group activity. I believe it's a great way to make connections with different/new people. I would do the same thing again.
Apple is right to not try to unlock there iPhones because once they find the "key" they can use it for any iPhone. (Tim Cook, Apple CEO). The code isn't specific for just one phone. Then they have the chance of the key getting leaked. Once leaked anyone, anywhere, anytime can use it. Foreign governments can use it to get into our presidents phone and find any of his personal information on his kids, wife, and himself. They, whoever hacks your phone, can find your personal information like where you live, who you talk to, and anything saved on your phone. This puts your life and your families life in danger.
The government has no right to tell Apple what to do with their company. They have rights to run their company how they wish. They believe in people having privacy on their own iPhones. Once Apple sells them the phone they don't care what happens to it. They don't even have access to the phone once they encrypt it. They lock that information away to where they can't even access it anymore. (Tim Cook, Apple CEO). They never try either because that is a violation to their privacy that everyone deserves. They can't just access one person's phone then not be able to get into someone else's. The code to unlock the encrypted phones goes for every phone out there. Think. DO you want all your personal information leaked? |
